Towards sustainability

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the world's governments at the United Nations in 2015, with the aim of addressing a broad range of sustainable development issues on our planet. These global goals are shared by the 193 Member States of the UN as well as by global civil society; they aim to end poverty and hunger, protect the oceans and forests, improve health and education, combat climate change and make cities more sustainable.

Similarly, COP21 is an important milestone for combatting climate change and promoting green economies worldwide. Based on the collaboration of over 190 countries, it is a universal agreement on climate and sets a framework for action, aimed at stabilising atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases and keeping global warming below 2 °C.
